To get a fancy number for your car or bike, you need to apply online on Parivahan Sewa website. To create a new account on this website you will need a mobile number and email ID. You will receive an OTP on your mobile phone; enter this OTP to complete the registration process.
Step 2: Select Your State and Vehicle Type
Once your account is created, select your state where you want to register your vehicle. Then, specify whether your vehicle is private or commercial. If it is a two-wheeler, provide the relevant details. After this, a webpage will display a list of available numbers in the current series. You can choose from these. If your preferred number is already taken, you will have to wait for the next series and apply again.
Step 3: Make the Payment
After selecting your desired fancy number, you will be redirected to the payment gateway. Various payment options will be available. Once the payment is made, an online receipt will be generated, which you can either print or save as a PDF.
Step 4: Submit the Receipt for Vehicle Registration
After receiving the receipt, take a printout and submit it to your vehicle dealer. The dealer will present this receipt to the ARTO (Assistant Regional Transport Office) at the time of vehicle registration. Your chosen number will then be allotted to you. The vehicle must be presented at the ARTO office within one month of booking the number. If not, the number may be cancelled, and the advance amount forfeited.
Step 5: Pricing and Booking Process
The cost of fancy numbers varies, ranging from Rs 1,500 to several lakhs. You can book any number according to your budget and preference. This facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so booking should be done immediately when a new series is released. Also, note that this service is available only for new vehicles; it does not apply to old vehicles.
