'Did You Hear Me Say That?': Washington Sundar Hits Back For Misquoting Him
Washington Sundar didn't take too kindly to a query from a reporter during a media interaction ahead of Gujarat Titans' IPL match against Rajasthan Royals.

Gujarat Titans allrounder Washington Sundar was seemingly annoyed at a query during a media interaction ahead of his team’s IPL 2025 clash with Rajasthan Royals. Sundar questioned the authenticity of a quote attributed to him regarding alleged dissatisfaction at limited number of matches he was part of last IPL season despite his appearances at the international level.
During the interaction, a reporter, citing an alleged claim from a commentator, asked Sundar: “You had to wait for the fourth game to get a chance, and someone mentioned on air that you played two games and 14 international games last season."

Sundar replied, “What’s the question?"
“You apparently said, ‘I got only two IPL matches and 14 international games’," the reporter clarified.
The 25-year-old allrounder took exception to the question.
“I said that? When did I say that? Did you hear me say that?" an annoyed Sundar hit back.
Upon further clarification that it was a commentator who made the claim rather than Sundar himself, normalcy was restored.
“I was definitely looking for the opportunity and was preparing really well," responded a composed Sundar. “To be a part of the Titans is a great blessing because we practice for long hours. Our coach believes in putting in volumes, especially when it comes to improving in different aspects of the game, and it’s been great for me. That way, I know for a fact that I am always improving, and whenever the opportunity comes, I will be prepared."
Sundar was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad squad last season when the franchise made it to the final and finished as the runners-up. However, he was only part of two games, bowled five overs and batted twice and faced just one delivery.
He was later released by SRH ahead of the IPL mega auction last year where former champions GT singed him for Rs 3.2 crore.
