Ahead of the start of a two-match Test series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, here's a look at top performers and record holders in 38 Tests played so far between the two teams.
Sri Lanka will face New Zealand in a two-match Test series at home. The series opener is scheduled to take place at Galle International Stadium from Wednesday (September 18), and the same venue will host the second red-ball from September 26 onwards. The first Test between the two teams will be a rare six-day match. It will feature a rest day on September 21 due to a presidential election in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is coming into the series after getting the better of England in the last red-ball match played at The Oval by 8 wickets, whereas New Zealand’s last Test against Afghanistan in Greater Noida finished without a ball being bowled.

The inaugural WTC winners, which sit at No. 3 position in the 2023-25 points table, would like to come up with a big show against the Dhananjaya de Silva-led side to win the series and gain confidence ahead of the three-match Test tour of India next month.
