Ashutosh Sharma and Mukesh Kumar collided in their attempt to take a catch to send back Tilak Varma during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
The incident happened on the second ball of the 19th over of MI’s innings.

Mohit Sharma bowled a slower one to Tilak Varma over the wicket and on a length near the wide guideline.
Thr Mis batter walked across and waited for the ball to arrive as he swung to go back over the bowler’s head. He did not get a proper connection and was through with his shot a bit early. The ball took the outer half of the bat and it ballooned towards the short third region.
Ashutosh Sharma ran to his left from short third while Mukesh Kumar moved to his right from backward point. Neither fielder called for the catch and went for it. The pair ended up colliding as the ball bounced in behind them.

Tilak Varma cracked a fine fifty as MI posted a competitive 205.5 frfom their 20 overs.
Sent in to bat, Varma hit a 33-ball 59, while Ryan Rickelton (41 off 25 balls), Suryakumar Yadav (40 off 28 balls) and Naman Dhir (38 off 17 balls) also made useful contributions.
For DC, Vipraj Nigam (2/41) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/23) snapped two wickets each, while Mukesh Kumar (1/38) took one
