Days after Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s complaint about a broken seat on an Air India flight, BJP national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill has also slammed the airline’s services, calling it the “Oscar equivalent for worst airlines."

Shergill took to the social media platform X to express his frustration following a recent flight experience with the Tata Group-owned airline.

The BJP leader described the experience as one of the worst he had ever had, saying that it “broke all records" in terms of customer service and in-flight conditions.

“If there was an Oscar equivalent for WORST AIRLINES @airindia would win hands down in every category: Broken Seats, Worst Staff, Pathetic “on Ground" Support Staff, Give two hoots attitude about customer service!," he wrote in his post, listing the issues he faced during his journey.

“Flying Air India is not a pleasant experience but today broke all records!," he added.

This incident comes just days after Union Agriculture Minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan publicly criticised Air India for providing him with a defective seat on a flight from Bhopal to Delhi.

Chouhan slammed the carrier for allotting him a “broken and sunk" seat and called it unethical for the airline to charge passengers full fare for such substandard conditions. His complaint prompted action from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) being asked to examine the matter.

Air India later apologised to Chouhan after his complaint gained attention on social media, and the DGCA also sought a report from the airline regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, in his post, Shergill did not provide specific details about his flight, such as the date or route, leaving some uncertainty regarding the exact circumstances of his complaint. However, his remarks have added to the growing list of complaints that have tarnished the airline’s reputation.
