A chilling incident emerged from Paldi village in Panipat, Haryana, where the body of a Muslim woman was exhumed from her grave following suspicions of foul play. The exhumation took place on the complaint of the woman’s daughter, who suspected her mother’s death was not accidental. The body was retrieved from the grave under the supervision of a duty magistrate, and sent for postmortem at Panipat’s Civil Hospital.

According to the woman’s daughter, Vinod, who resides in Samalkha, her mother, Salamati, lived in Paldi, a village under the Israna police station. On December 2, Vinod received a call from her cousin, Firoz, informing her that her mother had passed away. Upon arriving at the house, Vinod discovered that half of her mother’s body was badly burned, presumably from a fire in the room. The cot and clothes inside the room were also scorched.

Initially, the family suspected an accidental death. Vinod explained that her mother had a habit of smoking bidis and was also a heart patient, which led them to believe the fire may have been caused by a seizure while smoking. However, their suspicions grew when they noticed several troubling signs. After the burial, the family could not locate Salamati’s phone, and calls to it went unanswered, with the line being disconnected after a few rings. Moreover, the mother’s gold earrings were missing, and blood stains were found around her bed.

These discoveries led the family to suspect foul play, and Vinod filed a complaint with the Israna police station, claiming her mother may have been murdered. The case raised further attention due to the fact that the woman had 17 children, 16 of whom have already passed away.
