German Citizen Of Indian Origin Participates In Mahakumbh With Wife And Son
In the festivities of Mahakumbh 2025, an Indian-origin man was spotted taking part in the event along with his German wife and son

On the second day of the 45-day Mahakumbh, which is the world’s largest religious gathering and sees the participation of people from all walks, an Indian-origin German citizen was seen taking part in the Mahakumbh Mela 2025.
The Indian-origin man, who now has German citizenship, was explaining why he made the decision to travel to India and participate in Mahakumbh along with his German wife and their son.

The visuals of the tourist in the Kumbh Mela were shared by ANI along with the caption, “Jitesh Prabhakar, originally from Mysore and now a German citizen along with his wife Saskia Knauf and a baby boy, Aditya arrive at #MahaKumbh2025."
“Jitesh says, ‘…It doesn’t matter if I live here (in India) or abroad – the connection should be there. I practice Yoga every day. One should be grounded and always try to travel towards inner self’," reported the outlet.
When the reporter asked his wife how is she feeling in the Mahakumbh Mela, she said, “I am very excited. I always like coming here."
One Crore Devotees Take Dip At Triveni Sangam
The Kumbh is one of the most sacred and largest gatherings of Hindu devotees and is organised every twelve years.
Indians as well as many foreigners are participating in the event to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam – which is the confluence of Rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Mythical Saraswati.
More than a crore devotees took a dip in the confluence of sacred rivers on the first day.
On Tuesday, which also marks the occasion of Makar Sankranti, a record number of people are expected to take part in the first “Amrit Snan".
Makar Sankranti is a Hindu festival which signifies the beginning of a new agricultural cycle and the end of harsh winters. The festival is observed across the country with different religious rituals.
