In a shocking development in the Meerut murder case, Muskan Rastogi has confessed to the crime during a police interrogation. She revealed that a fierce argument erupted between her and Saurabh on the day of the murder.
During interrogation, Muskan revealed that her insistence on divorcing Saurabh, which he refused, had fuelled a heated argument prior to the murder. Divorce proceedings had been underway since 2021.

Muskan also admitted her fondness for Sahil Shukla, a co-accused in the case, and confirmed that Saurabh was aware of this. Despite this knowledge, he continued to refuse the divorce, which ultimately led to the murder.
Further reports indicate that Sahil Shukla has altered his appearance by cutting his hair short, changing from his previous bun style, after requesting a barber visit in jail. Meerut Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma confirmed that Sahil has had his hair cut and is not currently assigned any work.
Muskan remains confined in a separate cell. Both Muskan and Sahil have requested a public prosecutor due to the lack of support from their families.
Muskan Rastogi has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her husband Saurabh, with the aid of her lover Sahil Shukla, and subsequently dismembering his body into 15 pieces and storing them in a blue drum filled with wet cement.
During the investigation, the police discovered that both Muskan and Sahil were drug addicts. Saurabh, who was employed in London, was killed upon his return home to celebrate his six-year-old daughter’s birthday.
The crime was uncovered when Muskan confessed to her parents, who then reported her to the authorities. Currently, the two suspects are being held in a Meerut prison.
Saurabh’s family is demanding swift justice, urging the police to expedite the charge sheet and trial process. They are calling for the death penalty for both accused.
