Widow Attacks Father-In-Law With Cricket Bat In Ghaziabad, Leaves Him Lying In Pool Of Blood
Aarti, the accused, told police that her father-in-law had been casting predatory glances at her for quite some time and also attempted to touch her inappropriately.

A chilling murder case from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad has sent shockwaves through the community where a widow allegedly killed her father-in-law in a manner so gruesome that even the police were left stunned. The matter unfolded when the body of 64-year-old Pati Singh was found on the floor of his house after a concerned neighbour noticied blood seeping from under the door.
Suspicion turned into panic when his repeated knocks went unanswered. Without wasting time, the neighbour alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and forcibly entered the house. What they discovered inside was nothing short of a nightmare. Singh’s body was found completely unclothed and a blood-soaked cricket bat lay beside him – seemingly the weapon used to carry out the brutal assault.

As blood pooled onto the floor, Singh’s daughter-in-law remained inside, until the discovery was made by the police. When confronted by the cops, she confessed to the crime without hesitation, detailing her version of the events.
According to the police, Singh had been living with his widowed daughter-in-law, Aarti, and her two children. The family’s history was already marked by tragedy – Singh’s wife and their son had succumbed to COVID-19 four years ago. Aarti, following a court order, had moved into the household just four months prior to the incident.
During police interrogation, Aarti revealed that her father-in-law had been casting predatory glances at her for quite some time. She alleged that he had also attempted to touch her inappropriately multiple times. Matters escalated further when, on a fateful Friday evening, Singh reportedly attempted to forcefully drag Aarti inside the house. This, she claimed, was the final straw.
Consumed by rage and a desire for retribution, Aarti devised a plan. Late at night, she ensured her children were safe inside, locking their room’s door from the outside. Then, she entered Singh’s room. She reportedly removed his clothes before attacking with a cricket bat and striking him repeatedly on the head. Singh collapsed, his body succumbing to the fatal blows.
While the case initially pointed toward a crime of revenge, the police are now considering another angle. Did Aarti act solely out of fury, or was there a more sinister motive at play? The police are probing whether the murder was premeditated with financial incentives, specifically Singh’s retirement savings, in mind.
