Television actor Arjit Taneja has spoken out after Rhea Chakraborty and her family, including brother Showik Chakraborty, were cleared by the CBI in the high-profile Sushant Singh Rajput case. After years of public speculation, the CBI found no evidence of foul play, closing the investigation that had kept the nation hooked.
Reacting to the news, Arjit took aim at the media’s relentless coverage and the damage done to Rhea’s reputation. Commenting on an Instagram post, he wrote, “Finally… but what they’ve done to Rhea is beyond forgiveness. Even if you fall to your knees and beg, it wouldn’t be enough to undo the damage."

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza echoed similar sentiments. She called out the media’s ‘witch hunt’ and demanded accountability. Posting on Instagram, she wrote, “Who in the media will have the grace to put out a written apology to Rhea Chakraborty and her family? You caused deep anguish and harassment just for TRPs. Apologise. That’s the very least you can do." She tagged Rhea, adding a red rose emoji.
Meanwhile, on Sunday morning, Pooja took to her X (formerly Twitter) account and reshared Akshay Kumar’s post from August 19, 2020, where he had written, “SC directs CBI to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. May the truth always prevail." Adding her own reflection in light of the recent report, Pooja commented, “The CBI’s March 22, 2025, closure report confirms Sushant Singh Rajput’s death as suicide with no foul play, clearing #RheaChakraborty and others. The truth has prevailed. #PrayersAnswered."
The CBI had been investigating two cases—one filed by Sushant’s father accusing Rhea of abetment to suicide and financial misappropriation, and another filed by Rhea alleging Sushant’s sisters had obtained a fake prescription for him. Both cases have now been concluded with no charges against Rhea.
Marking the legal closure, Rhea’s brother Showik shared an old video with his sister on Instagram, writing “Satyameva Jayate" (Truth Alone Triumphs), his first public response since the verdict. Rhea herself has yet to comment.
