Filmmaker Priyadarshan shared his thoughts on directing the highly anticipated Hera Pheri 3. He reflected on the massive expectations surrounding the film due to the success of its predecessors, admitting he never expected such lasting popularity. He also acknowledged the challenges of meeting the audience’s high hopes.
After facing several setbacks, Hera Pheri 3 is now moving forward. On Priyadarshan’s birthday, Akshay Kumar confirmed his role as director. Originally, Fahad Samji was set to direct, with Feroz Nadiadwala producing, but legal and production hurdles delayed the film. It is now back on track.

Opening up on his plans, Priyadarshan said, “I plan to start work, start writing Hera Pheri 3 sometime next year. It is going to be very challenging to make the third part because there will be too many expectations. People are waiting to see Akshay, Paresh and Suniel again and we always say that it is easy to make people cry, it is easy to scare people but to make them laugh is very difficult and that too without using double entendre dialogues ..you have to make humour so pure and identifiable. Then, humor also changes, and the taste of the society changes. We have to catch up with that. Characters have gotten older and accordingly people should believe…these are important things. I am taking it as a challenge. Let’s see how it works."
Recently, Suniel Shetty shared his enthusiasm for the project, expressing confidence in its potential. According to The Times of India, Shetty firmly believes that Priyadarshan is the perfect choice to direct Hera Pheri 3, praising his unmatched expertise in comedy and storytelling. He also revealed that the filmmaker is personally working on the script, calling it “extraordinary." When asked about the film’s prospects, Shetty summed it up in one word: Blockbuster.
