Pushpa 2 Director Sukumar Visits 9-Year-Old Stampede Victim In Hospital, Offers Rs 5 Lakh Assistance
Allu Arjun's father also recently visited the victim at the hospital.

Pushpa 2 director Sukumar recently visited nine-year-old Sri Tej – a victim of the stampede caused at Allu Arjun’s film’s screening in Hyderabad – at the hospital. Sukumar visited Sri Tej and his father and offered Rs 5 lakh financial assistance to the family. The child’s mother lost her life due to asphyxiation caused during the stampede.
As per India Today, Sukumar visited the hospital and met the child’s father to discuss his health. He expressed his grief over the situation and has offered the family Rs 5 lakh for assistance. His spokesperson took to X and wrote in Telugu, “Director Sukumar visited Sri Tej at the hospital. His wife (Tabitha) donated ₹5 lakh to Sri Tej’s father on December 9."

A few days ago, Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind visited the Hyderabad hospital to take stock of the child’s situation. Reportedly, the Telugu star’s father also met the father and husband of the deceased woman in the hospital.
Prior to Allu Aravind’s visit, Telangana Health Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu and Hyderabad Police Commissioner C. V. Anand also visited the survivor and shared a heartbreaking update about his health. They revealed that the child has suffered brain damage and will take time to recover.
For the unversed, the woman was at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule earlier this month when the chaos unfolded as massive crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, who was attending the event alongside music director Devi Sri Prasad. In the ensuing commotion, the theatre’s main gate collapsed, resulting in a stampede. A 35-year-old woman lost her life, and her 9-year-old son sustained severe injuries.
Allu Arjun was arrested in connection to the case on December 13, 2024. was picked up from his residence and then sent to 14-day judicial custody. The actor was granted then interim bail for 4 weeks on a personal bond of Rs 50,000. However, delays in paperwork resulted in him spending a night in jail. Previously, in a statement, Allu Arjun revealed why he did not visit the stampede victim after the tragedy and clarified that his legal team had advised him against visiting the family at this time.
