Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao 'Not The Biggest Stars', Says Karan Johar As He Praises Stree 2 Success
Stree 2, released in August 2024, became a blockbuster, earning over Rs 800 crore. The film stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead.
Stree 2 became one of the biggest blockbusters of all time when it hit theatres in August 2024. Starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead, the film earned over Rs 800 crore and became the seventh-highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time. Recently, Karan Johar also praised Stree 2. He mentioned that the Amar Kaushik directorial is inspiring because it performed well at the box office despite not having the “biggest stars" in it.
“I am happy when I see Stree 2 performing so well at the box office. I am so empowered, so inspired that a film that does not boast of a huge star cast with 6 superstars in it. Not like the biggest star of the country is in it. But it is all about the conviction of the producer and the director. More power to Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik. Everyone is fantastic- Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana. Shraddha Kapoor, outstanding. Lekin the real bravado is those two!" Karan told Komal Nahta recently, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

“I always say this is not the age just of the director or the star, it is the age of the producer. The way a project gets made, positioned, platformed and released. Even the strategies used while you are releasing it at a particular time. These are all important aspects for the success of a film. It is the age of the studio and that of the producer," the filmmaker added.
This is not the first time that KJo has praised the success of Stree 2. In August last year too, the filmmaker took to his Instagram handle and penned down a long note congratulating the team.

The original Stree film was released in 2018. It was also widely loved by the audience.
