Sonam Kapoor Celebrates Her ‘Favourite Woman’ Sunita Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor expressed gratitude to her mother for shaping her into the woman she is today.
Sonam Kapoor never misses an opportunity to celebrate and shower love on her family, and her latest post dedicated to her mother, Sunita Kapoor, is proof. On Tuesday, March 25, the Raanjhanaa actress took to her Instagram account to pen a deeply moving note on her mother’s birthday. She expressed her gratitude to her mother for shaping her into the woman that she is today.
Her post began with a few pictures of Sunita playing and spending quality time with her grandson, Vayu. The carousel also featured some throwback photos, one particularly nostalgic image, which featured Sunita cradling her three kids, Sonam, Rhea and Harsh Varrdhan, in her arms. Other photos showcased Sunita through the years, including moments with her daughters and her actor-husband, Anil Kapoor, which perfectly reflected their love. However, the two particularly precious pictures that immediately caught the attention of the internet were of Sonam and her mother when she was a baby girl.

Sharing the array of photos, Sonam wrote a heartfelt note, which began with, “To my favourite WOMAN in the whole world, my mama, my inspiration, my strength, my guiding light—happy, happy birthday!"
She thanked her mother for instilling courage, grace and boundless love in her, saying, “My constant through every season of life, showing me what it means to live with grace, courage, and boundless love. Everything I am and everything I hope to be is rooted in the values you’ve taught me—through your actions, your compassion, and your unwavering support."
She ended her note with, “Thank you for being the heart of our family, the most incredible role model, and the most beautiful person I know. I love you more than words can ever express, Mama. Today and every day, I celebrate you."
In no time, Sonam’s friends, family and fans flooded the comment section with their affectionate wishes for Sunita Kapoor. Anaita Shroff Adajania penned, “Happy birthday to beautiful," whereas actress Bhumi Pednekar and reality TV star Bhavana Pandey reacted to the post by dropping red heart emojis. Meanwhile, Sonam’s fans penned heartwarming wishes on her mother’s birthday.
Apart from Sonam Kapoor, Sunita’s husband, Anil Kapoor, and her daughter, Rhea Kapoor, also penned adorable wishes to celebrate her special day.
