Stranger Things Star Sadie Sink To Play A Key Role In Spider Man 4, Here’s What We Know

Sadie Sink, known for playing Max Mayfield in Stranger Things, is reportedly joining the cast of Spider Man 4 alongside Tom Holland. While her exact character remains a mystery, rumours suggest she could appear as X-Men’s Jean Grey or another version of MJ, played by Zendaya. The role is expected to be important, especially after the events of Spider Man: No Way Home, where Peter Parker’s identity was erased by Doctor Strange’s spell. Previously, sources hinted that Sink was a top contender to play Grey in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but there were no clear details about where she would fit. With the latest news, the possibility of her playing the iconic role has sparked excitement.
According to Deadline, if Sink doesn’t play Grey, she might “show up as another beloved redheaded Spider Man character." On the other hand, reports also hint that Holland’s previous co-stars will have smaller roles in the upcoming MCU project, while new actors will be in the spotlight and Sink is the first major addition. Holland is currently in Greece filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, alongside his ladylove Zendaya. Once he wraps up Nolan’s project, he is expected to begin shooting for Marvel by the end of this year.

Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider, also known as The Insneider, was the first to report in December 2024 that Sadie Sink had joined MCU. He shared this information during his appearance on The Hot Mic podcast with John Rocha. During the time, he was unsure about which project she had been cast in. He speculated that it could be for Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars or an upcoming X-Men movie.
Jeff said, “Sadie Sink is in line to be Jean Grey. I think it makes sense with her being in Stranger Things. Stranger Things wrapping up next year, her schedule is pretty free after that. Those kids are gonna be red hot and Marvel chases heat. I think that she’s a talented actress and someone who Marvel probably is down to be committed to for the long term. When I heard it, I was like, ‘Who cast her?’ because there’s no director on X-Men but I think that the Russo brothers are casting Doomsday and probably Secret Wars. Those movies are being shot back to back."
