Apple has delayed the Siri AI feature to 2026 and the company is making wholesale changes internally to fix the mess. However, the Cupertino-based giant now faces a big challenge as its consumers want to penalise the brand for its false advertising of AI features. The class-action lawsuit has been filed at the US District Court in San Jose which alleges Apple of misleading buyers of its AI features which may have prompted many people to buy the new models.

The company is finding it hard to make Siri AI and other important features work without any errors. The delayed launch is not a bad thing in general, but for a brand like Apple, and where the AI race is headed with Google and OpenAI leading the ranks, these issues put a dampener on its future product roadmap.

The lawsuit was inevitable, because there might be millions who were appealed by the Siri AI ads that were shown across mediums which made people believe that the iPhone 16 models will get them soon after the launch.

We had to wait until the iOS 18.1 update in October to see some form of Apple AI to make its way to the iPhone 16 series, but even then, you are still not salivating at the prospect of using any of them in their current form.

Filing a lawsuit over these false promises from Apple means the consumers would be liable to get compensation for spending their money on the pretext of the unreleased AI features, if the case gets the verdict expected by the plaintiff.

Apple will surely make a case for its troubles but the trillion dollar value company is unlikely to see leniency from the Court especially when it involves people spending their money on these premium devices.

    iOS 18.4 Is Coming

In other Apple news, the big iOS 18.4 update is just a few weeks away from rolling out for iPhone users. The delayed Siri AI release is unlikely to diminish the interest towards the new version, especially because the new Siri will finally become receptive to more local languages and English for people in India. iPhone users will get more localised responses and AI tools available to millions of iPhone users in the country.
