Kerala Lottery is a state-run lottery scheme, which comprises seven draws in a week with one daily draw. The Kerala state lottery department also organises six mega bumper lotteries in a year. The lottery tickets are sold on the official website of the Kerala State Lotteries Department. The winners of the prize money are decided through a lucky draw. Every day, a unique lottery is sold in the state officially by the state department. Cost of Lottery Ticket
The cost of lottery tickets varies daily. Weekly lotteries are sold at minimal prices whereas bumper lotteries cost more. The ticket price for weekly lotteries is Rs 40. The cost of the bumper lottery ranges from Rs 200 to Rs 300.
Winning Amount
The prize money of Kerala Lottery varies as per the cost of the ticket. The state lottery department ranks tickets to eight categories and awards prize money as per the category. The first prize is usually a huge amount ranging between Rs 70 lakh to Rs 75 lakh. The lottery department also gives consolation prizes to some lucky tickets, which are unable to win the lottery.
Claiming Prize Money
Every day, the results of the lottery are live streamed at the official website of Kerala Lottery from 3 pm and the results are updated on the official website after 4pm. Once the results are out, winners of the lottery can claim their prizes by visiting the concerned offices within the 30 days of results announcement. If someone wins an amount less than or equal to Rs 1 lakh, they should collect their money from the district lottery offices, the winning amount between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 20 lakh are to be claimed from the office of deputy director. For the prizes above Rs 20 lakh are to be claimed at Kerala Lottery Director’s office in Thiruvananthapuram.
