After Ranveer Allahbadia, Another Comedian Faces Internet's Wrath Over 'Parent Joke'
A video of comedian Swati Sachdeva is going viral on the internet, showing her joking about an interaction with her mother.

Another parent-centered joke has the internet’s attention, and it’s not of Ranveer Allahbadia. The popular YouTuber, also known as BeerBiceps, found himself in the middle of a major controversy after his certain remarks on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent. The show’s episode in question triggered widespread condemnation of Ranveer Allahbadia joking about parents and sex, beginning with his question to one of the contestants. “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?" the YouTuber said at the time.
What followed next was a barrage of legal complaints, FIRs and immense public backlash over the span of weeks. While the heat is still yet to fade away, another comedian seems to have caught the internet’s attention over yet another ‘parent joke.’

Comedian Swati Sachdeva, at a recent standup show, was seen cracking jokes about her mother, sharing details about her reactions after discovering a vibrator in the house. “My mother is trying to be a cool mom, but it’s not happening. I recently had a tragedy with her after she found my vibrator. She came to me with full confidence and made me talk to her ‘as a friend.’ She is definitely going to ask for my vibrator. She started calling it a gadget, a toy. I was like, ‘I swear, Mom, it belongs to Papa.’ She said, ‘Don’t speak nonsense; I know his choice.’ It was then that my mother brought it out and started asking me," Swati delivered during her standup gig.
An X user shared a particular clip from the show, asking, “There has been enough investigation on Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahabadia. Will she be the next?" while another added, “Similar joke on parents. Our culture is getting worse."
“These days, comedy means only using foul language and nothing else. Some people laugh at it. One person here on this platform told me that with time, comedy has upgraded. Is this an upgraded or degraded comedy?? Is this actually comedy?" another comment read. A user expressed disappointment over the current generation, adding, “What happened to today’s young, energetic, youthful generation…?!"
Despite the intense scrutiny, many others came out with supportive reactions like, “I guess comedy shouldn’t be taken in any perspective. It’s just simple laughter, and go home with nothing in mind" and “Her comedy is her comedy. If you like it, laugh. Or else, don’t watch. Simple. If people have this thinking, we’ll have all the time to actually talk about real issues that matter."
The video in question is a part of Swati Sachdeva’s ‘Family First’ standup comedy gig, with a full video now available on her YouTube channel. It is yet to be seen if her comments will trigger any legal actions.
