Chhattisgarh Man Threatens To Commit Suicide After Wife Refuses Money For Alcohol

In a shocking revelation, a youth started blackmailing his wife after climbing a tower of high tension line in Dadar Basti of Manikpur police post in Korba district (Chhattisgarh). The youth asked his wife to give him Rs 500 to drink alcohol, and when his wife refused, he climbed onto the tower and started shouting loudly and threatening to commit suicide. The man named Karan, 26, is a resident of Dadar. He climbed about 60 feet up in the high-tension tower. However, this incident brought chaos among the local residents as they were constantly persuading him to come down. They even said that they would give him the money, while some promised to get him a bottle of alcohol. However, this scene continued for an hour.
Upon hearing the news, his mother rushed to the scene and pleaded with him to come down, but this only made him more upset, and he climbed even higher. The locals quickly alerted the Manikpur outpost police. Outpost in-charge Naveen Patel arrived with his team and began persuading the man to come down. However, the young man’s behaviour was unpredictable, sometimes he would agree to come down, and sometimes he would climb back up moments later. After much effort and time, the police successfully convinced him to come down, bringing relief to everyone present.

It is reported that the man was intoxicated during the incident. His family is frustrated with his repeated behaviour under the influence of alcohol. This time, his actions could have cost him his life. Outpost in-charge Naveen Patel stated that the police acted promptly, preventing a potentially dangerous situation. The man was eventually sent home safely.
On a similar note, four girls have been booked for abetment to suicide after the death of a 24-year-old Dilip Kumar, who had ended his life due to the rape threat by one of these girls in the Mohanlalganj area of the Uttar Pradesh capital. The incident had come to light when some people passed near the site and saw the man hanging from the tree with a rope tied around his neck.
