However, the story did not end there. Soon after, Alianna’s stepfather, Pete Ysasi, joined her uncle.
The deputies finally managed to stop the brawl, and arrested the victim’s uncle, Lucero, and the stepfather for breaking the law, under the charges of “battery and assault". As reported by Metro, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said that Lucero told the cops, “Ortiz killed my niece like a coward. Beating him was worth every moment." They were later released from the Metropolitan Detention Center.
According to a press release by New Mexico Police, Farfan was murdered in her bedroom. After committing the crime, the offender reportedly escaped through the window. The suspect was allegedly wearing a ski mask and a black hoodie. After speaking with friends and family, the police found that Farfan and Ortiz had an abusive relationship. After the investigation, Ortiz was taken into custody for allegedly murdering his ex-girlfriend Alianna Farfa last year. However, a female suspect in the case is still at large.
Second Judicial District Court CEO Katina Watson told Metro that the brawl was just one more incident among the things they witnessed every day. She said, “I want to give recognition to the MDC officer who was caught in the middle of this and he did everything he could to ensure the safety of everyone."
