Donald Trump was largely criticised for assigning a major role to Elon Musk in his incoming administration with the latter being dubbed as "President Musk". Trump has responded to criticism.

US President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday (local time) responded to the Democratic camp’s criticism portraying Elon Musk as “President Musk" for his role in the upcoming administration. He clearly stated that the world’s richest person is “not going to be US President."
He pointed to the US rule that a person who is born in the country can go on to become the President.

What Did Donald Trump Say About Musk?
He said that Musk “will not have the presidency" and will head the new department of government efficiency.
“We will create a new department of government efficiency headed by Elon Musk. And no, he’s not taking the presidency. They are on a new kick. Russia, Russia, Russia, Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine… All the different hoaxes. And the new one is — President Trump has ceded the presidency to Elon Musk. No, no, that’s not happening. But Elon’s done an amazing job. Isn’t it nice to have smart people that we can rely on? He has a great job," Trump said at a Republican conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
“He’s not gonna be president, that I can tell you. You know why he can’t be? He wasn’t born in this country," Trump stressed.
“No, no that’s not happening," Trump assured the crowd.
Elon Musk Reacts
Musk reacted to the comments, stating that Trump “is awesome".
Notably, the US Constitution mandates the president to be a natural-born US citizen. Musk, Tesla and SpaceX boss, was born in South Africa.
