Kanpur Airport To Benefit
The Air Travels Agent Association acknowledges that passengers will experience inconvenience due to the airport closure. While some airlines have rescheduled their flights to before 10 am and after 6 pm, disruptions are inevitable. The association anticipates that Kanpur Airport will benefit from the closure of Lucknow Airport, as many airlines will operate from there instead.
International Flights Also Affected
The airport closure will affect both domestic and international flights. Additionally, airfares are likely to increase due to fewer flights and higher passenger demand. Airlines may capitalise on this situation by charging higher fares. For instance, the current fare from Lucknow to Delhi, which ranges from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000, could potentially double.
