From Rishabh Pant To Nicholas Pooran: Five LSG Players To Watch Out For In IPL 2025
Now under new leadership and donning immense firepower across the ranks, LSG will be hoping to make the leap to the top, and vie for the coveted trophy.

Lucknow Super Giants may have been one of the latest franchises to enter the IPL, but they have consistently shown signs of growth in the three seasons they have existed so far.
The Sanjiv Goenka-owned franchise made their intentions for a major change known in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, bringing in swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant for a walloping Rs 27 crore in place of their previous skipper, KL Rahul, whom they let go of.

Now donning immense firepower across the ranks, the Lucknow franchise will be hoping to make the leap to the top.
Here are five LSG players to watch out for in the upcoming IPL 2025 season:
Rishabh Pant
An obvious choice for the one man who will garner all the attention. Pant’s record-breaking price tag of Rs. 27 crore and his sensational match-winning ability with the bat will ensure that the new LSG skipper will be the talk of the town when he takes to the field with his new team. Coming in as a result of the aftermath of the fractured relationship between the Lucknow franchise and their previous captain KL Rahul, much will weigh on the shoulders of Pant to prove himself and the higher-ups within the organisation right for having instilled faith in the Indian wicketkeeper-batter.
Ravi Bishnoi
In a squad filled with fiery batters and red-hot pace bowlers, Ravi Bishnoi stands alone as the veteran spinster, who will be tasked with the weary task of navigating the middle overs with the ball for LSG. As the lone leg-spinner, Bishnoi has proven his worth to take on battles with the opposition batters with effect — a quality that persuaded LSG to retain the wily leggie. Bishnoi took 10 wickets from 14 matches in the 2024 season and will be expected to weave magic yet again when required.
Mohsin Khan
LSG showed immense faith by retaining talented pacer Mohsin Khan for IPL 2025. Representing Uttar Pradesh, the 26-year-old showcased his wicket-taking capabilities in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024, where he continued to bag crucial wickets for Uttar Pradesh against Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi. Mohsin, who will be expected to have a breakout season in the upcoming IPL 2025, concluded the tournament with nine wickets in seven matches at an average of 21.11 and an economy of 7.86.
Nicholas Pooran
Despite LSG’s lackluster outing last season, one man who stood out for his sheer firepower was the West Indian batter. Pooran has been lighting the Lucknow skies up since joining the franchise in 2023, and has since proven to be a match-winner, scoring 358 runs from 15 matches in 2023 and 499 runs from 14 matches in 2024. Now paired alongside Pant and Miller for the upcoming 2025 season, Pooran will be expected to dominate with the bat as he has continued to do so in past seasons.
Mayank Yadav
Mayank definitely made his mark last season with the Lucknow franchise with his red-hot and raw pace, notching up blistering speeds of over 155 km at ease, and captured the attention of all including the BCCI, who granted him his first international cap for India in the T20I series against Bangladesh. The speed demon went on to make his India debut in T20Is against Bangladesh and bagged four wickets in three games before picking up an injury, that has continued to bother the pacer. Ahead of last year’s mega auction, LSG retained him for Rs 11 crore following his breakthrough IPL season, and will now be banking on him to make a speedy recovery to spearhead their bowling attack.
