Sachin Tendulkar
The legendary Indian batter features at the very top of the list in the marquee fixture. Before the times of quick-time T20I games, the shortest format the game had to offer, the ODI, was dominated by the master blaster from Mumbai. He understood the stakes when India took on Pakistan and delivered more times than not for as long as he donned the famous blue shirt.
Tendulkar managed to tally 2562 runs in his 69 outings against the heated rivals at an average of 40, highlighted by his 141 runs knock against the neighbours.
Inzamam-Ul-Haq
The poster boy of Pakistani batting during the 2000s, Inzamam was the big frame shouldering all the hopes of the Pakistani batting order. And he stood up to the task of taking the Indian bowling attack all over the park.
Inzy, as he is fondly known, tallied 2403 runs in 67 appearances against the men in blue at an astonishing average, even above Sachin’s mind you, of 43.69.
Saeed Anwar
Anwar stands third on the list with 2002 runs in just 50 games in the heated derby game. His average comes in just shy of his compatriot Inzamam, but his strike rate of 90.58 ranks even higher than his one-time skipper.
The hopes of the side were on the maverick southpaw to get them off to a sound start, which proved crucial multiple times.
Rahul Dravid
The Wall, who has proven to be the men in blues’ saviour many a times, came good when it mattered the most as well in the heated fixture on multiple occasions. His 1899 ODI runs against Pakistan in his 58 outings come in fourth on the list at an average of 36.51. And it would come as no surprise to anyone who has watched prime Dravid operate as his strike rate of 67.17 is the lowest on the tally.
Shoaib Malik
The former Pakistani batter takes the fifth spot on the list making it amongst a list of illustrious names with his efforts against India as the middle-order batter has amassed 1782 runs in 42 appearances. What stands out, in particular, was his consistency against the Indians as he averaged 46.89.
