Star Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who has been out of action these days due to a lower back injury, has started bowling in the nets at NCA. In a video going viral on the internet, the 31-year-old pacer from Ahmedabad can be seen bowling.
Bumrah last played a competitive match in January 2025. He bowled in the first innings of the fifth Test played against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground but didn’t come out to bowl in the second innings. He was included in India’s provisional squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 but was later replaced by Harshit Rana due to a lower back injury.

Bumrah’s return to the nets has ignited hopes of him making a comeback soon. He was dearly missed by Mumbai Indians in the last two IPL 2025 matches played against Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.
MI to face KKR on Monday
After losing their first two matches of IPL 2025 by 4 wickets against CSK on Sunday (March 23) and by 36 runs against Gujarat Titans on Saturday (March 29), Mumbai Indians will face defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in their third league stage match on Monday (March 31). The match No. 12 of IPL 2025 is scheduled to take place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Bumrah is unlikely to play in the match vs KKR, but there are high chances that he will return to action in the middle of April.
Bumrah’s record in IPL
Bumrah made his debut in the IPL for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 4, 2013, and picked up three wickets for 32 runs in four overs. In the last 12 years, the cricketer from Ahmedabad has played 133 matches in the IPL for the Mumbai-based franchise and has picked up 165 wickets. He is one of the four bowlers in IPL history who has two five-wicket hauls to his name.
