LSG opened their campaign with a 1-wicket defeat to DC, before roaring back with a 5-wicket win over SRH, thanks to Thakur’s heroics with the ball. KKR won the toss against LSG and opted to bowl but were made to pay for their decision in the first innings as LSG went on to post a mammoth total of 238/3, riding on half-centuries from Australian opener Mitchell Marsh and Windies maverick Nicholas Pooran. South African skipper Aiden Markram also chipped in with a 47-run contribution for the visitors as KKR’s Nitish Rana picked up a couple of wickets and the other one went to Andre Russell.
