Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, who was signed for Rs 11.25 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction by Sunrisers Hyderabad, made his memorable debut in the world’s richest franchise cricket league for the Orange Army on Sunday (March 23) by scoring a century in just 45 balls. The 26-year-old former Mumbai Indians star who has played in all three formats of the game for Team India achieved the feat during match No. 3 of IPL 2025 played between SRH and Rajasthan Royals at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

During his stay at the crease so far, Kishan has hammered 10 fours and six sixes. The century on Sunday is Ishan’s first century in the IPL. His previous best score in the cash-rich league was 99 from 58 balls for Mumbai Indians against RCB during the IPL 2020 match played in Dubai on September 28, 2020.

Kishan came out to bat at No. 3 for SRH in the first match of the 2025 season and added 85 runs for the second with Travis Head (67 runs from 31 balls) and 72 runs for the third wicket with Nitish Kumar Reddy (30 runs from 15 balls).

Ishan remained unbeaten on 106 runs from 47 balls for SRH in the first match of IPL 2025 against RR. He smacked 11 fours and six sixes for the Pat Cummins-led side. Ishan’s maiden century in the IPL helped SRH post a total of 286 runs on the board for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
For SRH, apart from Ishan, Travis Head hammered 67 runs from 31 balls, and wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen got out after making 34 runs from 14 balls.
For RR, Tushar Deshpande finished the match with figures of 3 for 44 in four overs, and two SRH batters were sent back to the pavilion by Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana.
