Renuka Singh Thakur Misses Out With Injury As India Name Squad For Tri-Nation ODIs
Harmanpreet Kaur is back as the skipper after sitting out the previous series against Ireland at home three months back, while Sneh Rana, Yastika Bhatia and Arundhati Reddy have all come back.

Star India pacer Renuka Singh Thakur missed out on India’s squad for the tri-nation series against Sri Lanka and South Africa, which will be played from April 27 to May 11 in Colombo as the teams gear up for the upcoming Women’s ODI World Cup, which will be played in India.
The Indian girls, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy, will play the first match of the series against hosts Sri Lanka on Sunday, April 27.

The final of the series will be played on Sunday, May 11.
Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia have been named as the two wicketkeepers in the squad. A notable inclusion in the squad is Shuchi Upadhyay, a left-arm spinner from Madhya Pradesh.
Shuchi was the Player of the Series in the 2024-25 Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy, having picked up 18 wickets in the tournament at an impressive economy of 3.5.
Shuchi picked a five-wicket haul against Mumbai in the semifinal of the tournament, finishing with brilliant figures of 10-0-48-5.
Besides Shuchi, Sree Charani, a left-arm spinner from Andhra Pradesh, who played two games for the Delhi Capitals in the recent Women’s Premier League, has also been named in the squad.
Charani picked three wickets in Andhra’s win over Sikkim in the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy, finishing with figures of 6-2-13-3.
Medium-pacer Kashvee Gautam from Chandigarh, who played nine matches for the Gujarat Giants in the WPL, has been named in the squad as well.
Kashvee picked 11 wickets in those games in the tournament at an impressive economy of 6.45.
Besides Renuka, BCCI said that right-arm pacer Titas Sadhu is also injured and will miss the tri-nation series.
Surprisingly, Shafali Verma continued to be out of the team despite a strong showing in WPL, where she scored 304 runs from nine matches at a strike rate of 152.76.
From the previous ODI series against Ireland, wicketkeeper Uma Chetry, allrounders Raghvi Bist and Sayali Satghare have been left out.
