Rohit Sharma's Masterplan Helps Hardik Pandya Get Nicholas Pooran's Wicket In IPL 2025, Video Goes Viral
Rohit Sharma's advice to MI captain Hardik Pandya seemingly helped dismiss LSG's Nicholas Pooran in IPL 2025. Rohit, injured, suggested slower balls, leading to Pooran's wicket. The moment went viral.

In a remarkable incident, Rohit Sharma‘s advice for Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya seemed to help him get the big wicket of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)’s Nicholas Pooran at the Ekana Stadium in IPL 2025 on Friday. A video of the moment has gone viral on social media within minutes.
The video was from just after the powerplay in the first innings. LSG were wicketless with 69 runs on the board and Rohit, who is not playing the match due to a knee injury, was seen having a chat with Pandya and other MI players. In the next over, Vignesh Puthur got rid of Mitchell Marsh, bringing in Nicholas Pooran who smacked Mitchell Santner for 12 runs in the following six balls.

Pandya at the toss said that Rohit was missing this match because he was hit on the knee during MI’s practice sessions in the lead-up to this game. Raj Bawa has replaced him in the team.
MI put up a complete performance with the ball but LSG were a perfect match for it, scoring a substantial 203/8 in their 20 overs. Ppeners Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram hit half-centuries and shared a 76-run stand Marsh scored 60 off just 31 balls, while South Africa’s Markram, who had been in poor form so far, made a 38-ball 53 to give LSG a competitive total.
For MI, who won the toss and elected to bowl, skipper Pandya took a brilliant five-for (5/36), grabbing the wickets of his opposite number Rishabh Pant (2), Markram, David Miller (27) and Akash Deep (0) apart from Pooran. Both teams have won just one of their three matches so far.
