Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Sandeep Sharma joined Shardul Thakur in an unwanted list on Wednesday (April 16) by bowling the joint-longest over in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. During the first half of the ongoing IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Sandeep was asked to bowl the 20th over of DC’s innings, and he completed it by bowling 11 balls. Of those 11 balls, he bowled four wides and one no ball.
During the IPL 2025 match played between Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday (April 8), Shardul also bowled 11 balls in an over. He was, however, able to take one wicket as well, and that proved to be the game-changing moment.

The home team rode on Abishek Porel’s 49 to post a total of 188 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Apart from the Bengal-based cricketer, who opened the innings with Jake Fraser-McGurk, KL Rahul scored 38 runs from 32 balls, and captain Axar Patel contributed 34 runs from just 14 balls.
In the end, South African batter Tristan Stubbs also remained unbeaten on 34 runs from 18 balls and added 42 runs for the sixth wicket in just three overs to help the hosts post a fighting total.
