South Africa vs Pakistan 1st Test Day 3 (South Africa National Cricket Team vs Pakistan National Cricket Team): Follow match highlights, commentary and updates from Centurion.

South Africa Vs Pakistan 1st Test, Day 3 Highlights: Pakistan opening bowlers Mohammad Abbas and Khurram Shahzad struck three blows late on the third afternoon as South Africa set out in pursuit of 148 runs to win the first Test at SuperSport Park on Saturday.
South Africa were reeling at 27 for three at the close, 121 runs short of a victory which would clinch them a place in the World Test championship final in England next June.
Abbas took two wickets for three runs in four immaculate overs of swing bowling, dismissing Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs, while Shahzad trapped Ryan Rickelton.
After a decent enough start from the openers, Pakistan suffered a bit of a collapse, going from 49/0 to 74/3. However, a 79-run stand between Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel got them back on track and took the lead over 50 runs as well. Both notched up their fifties as well, but just as when they started to get control, Babar departed right after his half-century. Once again, they lost three wickets in quick succession, but Shakeel batted brilliantly with the tail to take the lead closer to 150 before missing a full toss and walking back on a hard-fought 84 off 113.
We are back for the chase! The players are already out in the middle now. Tony de Zorzi and Aiden Markram are the two openers for South Africa. Khurram Shahzad has the new ball in hand and is raring to go. Let’s go…
South Africa, on the other hand, had to toil hard with the ball. There were some phases where they looked a bit under pressure but they always found a way to answer back. Kagiso Rabada started things for them but it was Marco Jansen who stole the show with a magnificent 6 for 52. The two partnerships that were threatening the hosts were broken by him gaining back control every time. Rabada ended up with two while Dane Paterson and Corbin Bosch chipped in with one each. However, this wicket is not that easy to bat on and the hosts will need to be smart and proactive as well. Pakistan bowlers, on the other hand, will need to believe in themselves and make early inroads to make a game out of this one. Join us in a bit to see how things pan out.
We are back for the chase!

FOR A PLACE IN THE WTC FINAL, 148 IS THE MAGICAL NUMBER FOR SOUTH AFRICA! Nothing came easy for them, but they kept going and going, finally getting the rewards. Marco Jansen was instrumental with a fantastic six-wicket haul while others chipped in as well. Pakistan will be disappointed as at one stage when Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel were batting, they would have been thinking of setting a target of something around 200, but in the end had to settle with only 148.
