Virat Kohli has reportedly confirmed his availability for Delhi's last Elite Group D match against Railways, which is set to take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium from January 30 to February 2.

Legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli has kicked off his preparations for Delhi’s upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Railways. The 36-year-old right-handed batter who last played a Ranji Trophy match for Delhi in 2012 is all set to play in the premier domestic red-ball tournament after more than 12 years. Delhi’s final Elite Group D match of the ongoing season is all set to take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium from January 30 to February 2. Virat, who has more than 9000 runs to his name in Test cricket for India, has reportedly confirmed his availability for the match.

Ahead of the match, Virat kicked off his preparations in Mumbai. In several videos going viral on the internet, Kohli can be seen training with former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar.

    Kohli, who was last seen in action for India against Australia during the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Sydney, has been out of form these days. In his last eight Tests, the former India captain has only managed to score 283 runs.

    Ahead of the three-match ODI series at home against England and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai, Kohli would like to get some runs under his belt in the upcoming Ranji Trophy match. After managing to win only one of the six group stage matches played so far, Delhi is already out of the race to qualify for the knockouts of the premier domestic tournament.

      Kohli missed Delhi’s last Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra in Rajkot due to a neck sprain. In his absence, Delhi suffered a humiliating defeat by 10 wickets inside two days. World No. 1 Test all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja picked up 12 wickets (5+7) in the match for Saurashtra to seal a famous win.

      For Delhi, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant featured in the match, but the 27-year-old cricketer failed to do much with the bat in both innings. Pant is expected to play in the match against Railways as well and then join India’s camp in Nagpur ahead of the three-match ODI series against England, which starts on February 6.
