Harshit Rana took the time to share some apples with some young fans who were on the sidelines in Cuttack.

Indian pacer Harshit Rana had a playful interaction with a few young fans during the second ODI against England in Cuttack on Sunday, February 9. The moment unfolded in the second innings when India was chasing a challenging target of 305 runs. The kids donning the jerseys of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seated right behind the dugout. They waved at Rana to catch his attention during a drinks break. As he turned back, the fast bowler assumed that the fans were asking for a cricket ball. They, however, gestured at a fruit basket kept on the table.
Going along with their request, Rana picked up some apples and threw them at the kids who were visibly delighted by the unexpected gift. A clip featuring their light-hearted interaction was dropped on Instagram with the caption– “Harshit Rana surprises kids with apples instead of cricket balls."

Harshit Rana has been one of the top-performing bowlers for India in the ongoing series. The 23-year-old made his ODI debut in the first match in Nagpur. He fetched a three-wicket haul for 53 runs, bowling seven overs. Rana, however, managed to pick one wicket in the second ODI which India won by four wickets to take an unassailable lead in the three-match series.
England put up a commendable batting show in Cuttack, with Joe Root and Ben Duckett making crucial contributions at the top of the order. Duckett scored 65 off 56 balls while Root chipped in with a 69-run knock. Jos Buttler, Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone also batted brilliantly, helping their team breach the 300-run mark. Ravindra Jadeja finished as India’s best bowler with three wickets.
In the second innings, Rohit Sharma stole the show with his big-hitting prowess. Following a series of poor performances, the Indian captain bounced back with a blazing century. He struck 119 runs off 90 balls, hitting 12 fours and seven sixes.
Shubman Gill also had a good outing and added 60 to the score. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel were impressive in the middle order, registering 44 and 41 runs. Thanks to their efforts, India wrapped up the game in 44.3 overs.
