WPL 2023 Points Table Update
The victory was DC’s fifth of the season and hence they have taken their points tally to 10 from seven matches. They have drawn level with Mumbai Indians but have replaced them at the top of the table thanks to a better net run-rate. With that, DC have ensured a top-three finish and a playoffs berth too.
RCB, UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants are now locked in a three-way battle to finish the third spot.
WPL Orange Cap
DC captain Meg Lanning made 29 off 26 with the help of five fours. She thus took her tally to 290 runs in the ongoing season and keeps hold of the Orange Cap as well. Mandhana, despite a low score, continues to be second in the list followed by MI’s Harmanpreet Kaur at third.
WPL Purple Cap
Neither Jess Jonassen nor Radha Yadav, the two leading wicket-takers of the season, managed a scalp against RCB. However, Radha has taken hold of the Purple Cap having improved her economy-rate despite both having taken 10 wickets each.
The third spot also belongs to a DC bowler with Marizanne Kapp taking one wicket to take her tally to 9 scalps and replace Sophie Ecclestone who has claimed eight wickets so far.
