IND W VS SL W Live, Asian Games 2023: A clinical performance in the final by India. After winning the toss, they put up a good total on what would prove to be a tough wicket to bat on. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana put her hand up with a patient 46 while Jemimah Rodrigues played second fiddle with 42. The Middle-order did cave in a bit but a score of 116 proved too much for Sri Lankan batters against the pace battery of Titas Sadhu and Pooja Vastrakar. Sadhu claimed three quick wickets including the big one of SL skipper Chamari Athapaththu early in the piece. SL did try to fightback courtesy Hasini Perera and Nilakshi de Silva’s peppy knocks, but the Indian spinners then took centerstage to keep SL hopes at bay and help India win the GOLD MEDAL in Indian cricket’s first-ever appearance at the Asian Games 2023. India women will lock horns against Sri Lanka in the bid to clinch the gold medal in their first attempt in the Asian Games. The Indian team has performed well thus far in their maiden Asian Games, they were qualified for the quarterfinals being the higher rank side. The quarter between India and Malaysia was abandoned due to rain but the Indian batters stamped their authority in the match by scoring 173/2 in 15 overs. It was a sensational show from India but the rain played spoilsport. However, being the higher-seeded side India reached the semifinals.

In the absence of Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana once again led the Indian team in the semifinal against Bangladesh women. It was another chapter in the new rivalry between India and Bangladesh as the Women in Blue played dominant cricket to completely outclass the Bangladesh women.

India bundled out Bangladesh for just 51 and went on to chase down the target in just 8.2 overs with the loss of two wickets. Pooja Vastrakar was the standout performer for India as she claimed a four-fer.

Sri Lanka Women also outclassed Pakistan women completely in the semifinal clash. The Lanka bowlers restricted Pakistan for just 75/9 in 20 overs as they chased down the target in 16.3 overs to register a 6-wicket victory.
