The reports add that the numbers are similar to last year. For the 2024 JEE Main Session 1 exam, around 12,30,347 candidates had registered. Out of these, 95.8 per cent, which means 11,70,048 candidates, appeared for the examination. At the start of the year, the registration speed was reported to be slow. It was because the candidates were having difficulty filling out the application form and adding the reports.
The candidates were facing problems in the spelling of names on the 10th certificate, mark sheet and Aadhaar card. The NTA then had to carry out some minor modifications to the online application form.
For the latest edition of the exam, the NTA has given extra opportunities to correct any mistake in the form filled out earlier. They have allotted the dates of November 26 and 27, to make any corrections in the form. However, some limitations have been set by the organization. The candidates can only correct the mistakes in their name, parents’ name, PAN number, city, medium of exam and date of birth. Changes in the mobile number, email address and photograph will not be allowed. The last day to register for the exam was November 22, by 9 pm.
