Punjab: 2nd Batch Of Primary School Teachers To Visit Finland For Two-Week Training On March 15

Punjab will send 72 more primary school teachers to Finland for a two-week intense training on March 15, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced. This is the second batch of teachers being sent to Finland for training.

Bains had earlier said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with the University of Turku for the training programme. It includes a week of training in Punjab followed by two weeks of training in Finland.

    Bains had earlier emphasised that the collaboration would facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices between Punjab and Finland. The training aims to equip teachers with effective teaching techniques for primary school education.

    The minister had said that the programme would help teachers gain valuable skills and methodologies to improve their teaching practices and student outcomes. He further added that the programme focuses on innovative teaching strategies that align with modern educational standards.

      The first batch of the teacher training programme in Finland took place on October 2024. The teachers had left on October 18, 2024. The chief minister had highlighted the Punjab state government’s continuous efforts to improve the education system, aiming to provide high-quality learning opportunities for every child, irrespective of their background, reported PTI.

      He stated that a new initiative exemplifies the government’s dedication to this cause. Finland has been specifically chosen for this initiative due to its globally recognised and highly effective education system.
