According to NIRF 2024, the top private MBA colleges in India are XLRI, MDI Gurgaon, and SIBM Pune.

In August, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 rankings were released, offering vital information about the calibre and effectiveness of Indian higher education institutions. The Management rankings are among the most important categories for students seeking a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a similar degree. These rankings help potential MBA candidates find the top universities to advance their careers and guarantee a top-notch education.

Top 10 Private Management Institutes in India (NIRF 2024)

XLRI, located in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, is one of the oldest and most prestigious private business schools in India. Established in 1949, it is run by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and has earned a strong reputation for academic excellence. XLRI secured the 9th position in the NIRF 2024 rankings and topped the IIRF 2023 rankings.

2. Management Development Institute (MDI) (Gurugram, Haryana) – Rank 11

MDI Gurgaon, founded in 1973, is one of India’s leading business schools offering a range of postgraduate and executive management programmes. Accredited by the AICTE, NBA, AACSB, and AMBA, it ranked 11th in the NIRF 2024 rankings and 2nd among private colleges in the IIRF 2023 rankings.

3. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) (Pune, Maharashtra) – Rank 13

Part of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), SIBM Pune was established in 1978 and is accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC. It provides postgraduate programmes in management and leadership and offers online courses in Marketing Analytics, Design Thinking, and Management Fundamentals. It ranked 13th in NIRF 2024.

4. S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) (Mumbai, Maharashtra) – Rank 20

5. SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) (Mumbai, Maharashtra) – Rank 21

Amrita University, based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, operates seven campuses across southern India. Accredited with an A grade by the UGC, it offers a variety of programmes across multiple disciplines. In NIRF 2024, it ranked 28th in the management category.

7. Amity University (Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh) – Rank 29

Amity University, established in 2005, is a private research institution with a Grade A+ accreditation from NAAC. It provides over 300 courses across various disciplines. In NIRF 2024, it ranked 29th in the management category.

8. Mudra Institute of Communications (MICA) (Ahmedabad, Gujarat) – Rank 32

MICA, established in 1991, is a specialised business school focusing on strategic marketing and communication. As the only residential institute of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, it ranked 32nd in NIRF 2024 and 8th in IIRF 2023.

9. Great Lakes Institute of Management (Chennai, Tamil Nadu) – Rank 34

Founded in 2004, Great Lakes Chennai is one of India’s top management institutes. Known for its LEED Platinum-rated 32-acre campus, it offers flagship programmes like PGPM/MBA and other management courses. It ranked 34th in NIRF 2024.
