WB Board Revises Class 11, 12 Syllabus; To Be Implemented From Next Academic Year
WBCHSE President Chiranjeev Bhattacharya has announced that the council has revised the curriculum keeping in mind the new semester system of higher secondary.

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has made some minor changes in the classes 11 and 12 syllabus. The syllabus of a few subjects including language, arts, and commerce department has been revised by the council. WBCHSE President Chiranjib Bhattacharyya has announced that the council has revised the curriculum keeping in mind the new semester system of higher secondary. The changes will be effective from the next academic year, the council mentioned in the notice.
WBCHSE will conduct the board exams semester-wise instead of conducting them annually. Students of class 11 and class 12 class will have to take the exam in the semester system from the academic year 2025-26. Students who are currently studying class 11 will have to take the exam in the semester system once they are in class 12.

The syllabus of Statistical and Biological Science in science subjects has been modified. Some new sections have been added and some of the old chapters have been removed. “Based on suggestions from various quarters, the Council has reviewed syllabus of several Subjects under H.S curriculum," reads the official notice by the council. Minor changes have been in the syllabus of English B, English A, Alternative English, Bengali A, Hindi A, Hindi B, History, Political Science, Accountancy, Costing and Taxation, Business Studies, Education, Science of Well-being, Statistics, Philosophy, Environmental Studies, Economics. As per the official notice, all the changes in the concerned subjects will be reflected in the fourth edition of the syllabus book. “Relevant changes will be made in our next version of the books of Model Question papers. Please note that, changes as stated in the Class XI syllabus in this notification are not going to affect the students who are already in the process of preparation for the Class XI Semester 2 examination," it stated.
