Bengal Student Dies By Suicide After Invigilator Snatches Answer Sheet Over Alleged Cheating

The family of the deceased girl student claimed that she was driven to the drastic step following humiliation suffered at the hands of her teacher. Neither the school nor the teacher have released a statement

In a disheartening incident, an 11th-grade student tragically took her own life following an accusation of cheating during a school examination. The incident took place at the Rahatpur area of Kalna, West Bengal.

On Monday, Afsana Mondal, a student of Bakulia Rajendranath Institution, was accused of attempting to copy answers from a classmate’s answer sheet during an examination. The supervising teacher, noticing this, allegedly confiscated both students’ answer sheets and expelled them from the examination hall.

    Deeply affected by the incident, Afsana returned home. Hours later, in a devastating turn of events, her family discovered her lifeless body. It has been reported that she had allegedly taken her own life by hanging. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Afsana was pronounced dead by doctors.

      An autopsy was conducted on Tuesday at Kalna Subdistrict Hospital, confirming the cause of death. While the school authorities and the teacher in question are yet to issue a statement, Afsana’s family alleges that the humiliation she endured at school drove her to take this drastic step. The local police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
