A drunk driver crashed into multiple vehicles in Vadodara leaving one dead and several injured. The incident, which occurred late Thursday night in the Karelibag area, was captured on CCTV.
In the footage, the high-speed car was seen losing control and hitting a 2-wheeler and several pedestrians. The crash resulted in the immediate death of one woman and left three to four others seriously injured, the police said.

The driver has been identified as 23-year-old law student, Rakshit Chaurasia and along with him was Meet Chauhan, who owns the car but was not driving at the time.

In the video, which has been widely shared on social media, the driver was seen stepping out of the severely damaged car in an intoxicated state. The driver, dressed in a black T-shirt, was visibly unstable as he began shouting incoherently. Among his statements, he repeatedly said, “Another round, another round!" and “Om Namah Shivay!"

Leena Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police, confirmed that the driver was intoxicated and had been taken into custody.
“A 4-wheeler rammed into a 2-wheeler and one woman died in the accident. The accused driver has been caught. Police are conducting further probe… this is a case of drunk driving," she told news agency ANI.
It was later reported that the owner of the car, Chauhan, was also arrested.
