Maha Kumbh 2025 Key Highlights: The 45-day Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj is culminating on February 26 with the last ‘Amrit Snan’ at the Triveni Sangam on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. Lakhs of devotees lined up to take the final holy dip at the largest religious congregation in the world. The Maha Kumbh 2025, which began in Prayagraj with the first Amrit Snan on Paush Poornima and Makar Sankranti, came after 144 years.

Maha Kumbh 2025, the largest spiritual gathering in the world, saw over 65 crore people taking a dip in the holy waters of the Sangam. “Nobody wants to miss out on this opportunity," said Maha Kumbh SSP Rajesh Dwivedi. “The people of Prayagraj are also visiting this Snan in huge numbers. Since midnight, we are seeing a huge inflow of pilgrims. Because of our schemes, there is a very convenient outflow and everyone is glad to be a part of this occasion on Maha Shivratri. They are also visiting the Shiv Mandirs in the Maha Kumbh area in large numbers. As of today, the 65 crore mark has been reached."

    Lakhs Participate In First Amrit Snan

    The Maha Kumbh 2025 commenced with at least 13.8 million devotees participating in the first ‘Amrit Snan’ on Makar Sankranti, January 14. The day before, on the occasion of Paush Poornima, devotees took a dip in the holy waters of Sangam in Prayagraj.

    The first Amrit Snan marked the Sun’s entry into the astrological sign of Makara. All ‘Akharas’ participated in the first ‘Amrit Snan’.

    PM Modi Takes Holy Dip in Sangam

    On February 5, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. After taking the dip, PM Modi said that the ‘snan’ at Sangam (confluence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati) is a moment of divine connection. He added that he was blessed to be at the Maha Kumbh.

    “…It is a moment of divine connection, and like the crores of others who have taken part in it, I was also filled with a spirit of devotion," he wrote on X while sharing his pictures. “May Maa Ganga bless all with peace, wisdom, good health, and harmony."

    Four Generations of Ambanis at Maha Kumbh

    On February 11, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, along with his family, visited Prayagraj to attend the Mahakumbh and took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. Along with the RIL Chairman, his mother, Kokilaben Ambani, and other family members, including his sons Akash and Anant, daughters-in-law Shloka and Radhika, grandchildren Prithvi and Veda, and sisters Dipti Salgaocar and Nina Kothari, also visited Kumbh as the family took a holy dip in Triveni Sangam.

    The Ambanis met Swami Chiddanand Saraswati Maharaj of Parmarth Niketan Ashram. At the Ashram, the Ambani family distributed sweets and life jackets.

    Amit Shah Takes Holy Dip

    On January 27, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a holy dip in the Sangam at Maha Kumbh. The video of Shah’s holy dip went viral with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath seen splashing water at Shah.

    The video of the playful moment went viral, showing the two senior BJP leaders, often known for their serious demeanor, sharing a light-hearted exchange.

    Shah also took part in a significant ritual at the Triveni Sangam, accompanied by several prominent seers, before making his way to interact with Junapithadheeshwar Mahamandaleshwar Acharya Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj and other religious leaders aboard a floating cottage.

    Yogi Adityanath and His Ministers At Maha Kumbh

    On January 22, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accompanied by Deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and other cabinet ministers took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.

    The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister convened a special Cabinet meeting in Prayagraj following which they boarded a boat to take part in the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. The Chief Minister took to social media platform X to share a video of the ritual.

    Katrina Kaif In Prayagraj With Her Mother-In-Law

    On February 25, Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif visited the Mahakumbh Mela and participated in the sacred ritual of taking a holy dip at Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. The actor, who was accompanied by her mother-in-law, also met Swami Chidanand Saraswati, the president of Parmarth Niketan Ashram, and sought his blessings during her visit.

    “I am very fortunate that I could come here this time," she said, speaking to ANI. “I am really happy and grateful. I met Swami Chidanand Saraswati and took his blessings. I am just starting my experience here. I like the energy, beauty, and significance of everything. I am looking forward to spending the whole day here."

    Maha Kumbh Culminates On Maha Shivratri

    On Wednesday, February 26, the Maha Kumbh 2025, the biggest celebration of Sanatan Dharma, culminated with the final Amrit Snan on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.

    The police made strict arrangements for the concluding day of the Maha Kumbh and deployed extra forces on the ground in response to the massive turnaround of devotees.

    Ahead of the last Amrit Snan, celebrities like Preity Zinta, Udit Narayan were also seen visiting Prayagraj and taking part in the ritual of the holy dip in the Sangam.
