This incident is reminiscent of a previous case from 2023 in Navi Mumbai where a man attempted to flee the scene after a traffic violation.
In April 2023, traffic policeman Siddeshwar Mali and another officer attempted to stop a car driven by Aditya Bembde, who was driving under the influence of drugs. As they tried to check the car Bembde allegedly tried to run over Mali. The impact caused Mali to land on the bonnet of the car. Bembde then drove more than 20 kilometers with the traffic cop clinging on to the car bonnet.
