The festive spirit in Gautam Buddha Nagar translated into a remarkable surge in liquor sales, with local consumers purchasing an astonishing Rs 25 crore worth of alcohol in just four days. This figure, recorded between October 29 and November 1, marks an increase of over 25% compared to last year’s sales during the same period.

District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar Srivastava provided insights into the impressive sales figures, revealing that the total liquor sales for October 2023 reached Rs 250 crore, a significant rise from the Rs 204 crore recorded in October 2022. This year’s Diwali festivities contributed to an additional Rs 7 crore in sales compared to last year, as residents indulged in celebratory purchases for family gatherings and social events.
