A celebratory firing incident during a wedding procession in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, resulted in the tragic death of a two-and-a-half-year-old child. The incident occurred in Agahpur village in Sector-41, Noida, where a wedding procession from Gurugram had arrived at Balbir Singh’s residence.
As the procession progressed through a crowded area, celebratory firing ensued. Tragically, a stray bullet struck Ansh Sharma, who was watching the procession from his balcony. The child sustained a fatal head injury.

Ansh’s father, Vikas Sharma, recounted the horrifying experience. “Around 8.50pm on Sunday night, my family and I were in our third-floor house watching the wedding procession passing through the neighbourhood from our balcony. While we were watching the celebration, two people suddenly fired several bullets in the air. Shortly after, blood started flowing from the son’s head and he fell down. After a few seconds, I realised that the bullet had hit him."
The injured child was rushed to a private hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Upon receiving information, police officers from Thana 49 and the DCP arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and individuals present at the wedding procession are being questioned.
Authorities have identified the individuals allegedly involved in the celebratory firing as Happy and Deepanshu, both residents of Gurugram, who are currently absconding.
Based on the father’s complaint, a case has been registered at Sector 49 police station under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. The family had recently relocated to Agahpur from Ashok Vihar in Delhi just two weeks prior to the incident.
