Ranveer Allahbadia controversy: YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia took to social media on Saturday after failing to respond to two summons from the Mumbai Police and claimed that people have been wanting to kill him and hurt his family over his “sex with parents" remark.

Taking to Instagram, Allahbadia wrote, “My team and I are cooperating with the police and all other authorities. I will follow due process and be available to all agencies. My remark about parents was insensitive and disrespectful. It is my moral responsibility to do better and I am genuinely sorry."

“I’m watching death threats pour in from people saying that they want to kill me and hurt my family. People have invaded my mother’s clinic posing as patients. I’m feeling scared and I don’t know what to do. But I’m not running away. I have full faith in the police and the judicial system of India," the YouTuber added.

Allahbadia has been facing severe backlash after one of his videos went viral in which he was seen asking a contestant on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent, “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?"

Allahbadia Apologises, Moves Supreme Court To Club All His FIRs

Allahbadia had earlier apologised for his remarks and said that “comedy is not my forte" while accepting that it was a “lapse in judgement".

“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context, justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology," he said.

“I personally had a lapse of judgment, wasn’t cool on my part. The podcast is watched by people of all ages, don’t want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly and family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect. I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s got latent. I’m sorry," Allahbadia went on to say.

Till now, multiple FIRs and complaints have been filed against Allahbadia over his “crass" joke and teams of Mumbai and Assam police had also visited his residence on Friday but had found the flat locked.
