Two saints were caught travelling without tickets on a train passing through Dabra station in the Jhansi division. When confronted by a ticket inspector, they claimed they had no money. However, the official was surprised to see them holding expensive smartphones. After failing to justify their actions, they paid the fine.

When the ticket inspector approached them and asked to see their tickets, the saints, donned in saffron robes with long beards and meditative garlands in hand, responded with a smile, “Baba, we are saints. Where is the money for the tickets?"

    The ticket inspector, initially serious, soon noticed that both saints were holding expensive smartphones. The ticket inspector questioned them, “How can you afford such costly mobile phones but not have money for tickets?"

    Although the saints initially tried to deflect the matter with various excuses, they eventually paid the fine after the inspector insisted.

    The Indian Railways regularly conducts operations to prevent ticketless travel or travel with irregular tickets. Such operations are frequently carried out on trains passing through Dabra station in the Jhansi division, where strict surveillance is maintained on about 11 trains. According to some reports, passengers often try to evade inspectors by moving to different compartments or hiding in the toilets, but these attempts are rarely successful.

      Following this incident, the search continued, and numerous passengers were fined for travelling without tickets, carrying unbooked luggage, or littering on the platform. In total, 155 passengers were fined Rs 74 each.

      Indian Railways officials stated that these operations are conducted to ensure the convenience of reserved ticket holders and to increase railway revenue. The drives are not limited to trains but also extend to stations, resulting in many individuals being caught while attempting to exit without tickets.
