Tirupati Stampede: CM Chandrababu Naidu Promises Jobs, Financial Aid to Victims' Families
The stampede occurred due to a scuffle between devotees at the ticket counters set up for Vaikuntha Dwara darshan in Tirupati. Six people lost their lives and another 31 were seriously injured

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has assured the families of the victims of the Tirupati Vaikuntha Dwara darshan stampede that one family member of each deceased will be provided with a contract job in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Additionally, the CM announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 5 lakh to those seriously injured.
During his visit to the injured at SVIMS Hospital, CM Chandrababu promised support to their families. He also announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the 31 people injured in the stampede. Furthermore, the CM ensured that the 31 injured devotees who travelled from afar for the darshan would be given a special darshan from Vaikuntha Dwaram in Tirumala on Friday.

Buddeti Naidu Babu from Narsipatnam, Rajini, Lavanya, and Shanti from Visakhapatnam, Nirmala from Kerala, and Malliga from Salem in Tamil Nadu died in the stampede. Another 31 people were seriously injured.
CM Naidu identified the “irresponsible behaviour" of deputy superintendent of police Ramana Kumar as the primary cause of the incident. Consequently, the chief minister ordered the suspension of DSP Kumar and Gosala director Haranath Reddy. Orders were also issued to transfer SP Subbaraidu, JEO Gauthami, and CSO Sridhar immediately. A legal inquiry will be conducted, and action will be taken against those responsible.
