'Wanted To Die Myself': Twist In Bengaluru Woman's Tale Who Asked For Pills To Kill Mother-in-Law
It was earlier reported that the woman sought pills from Dr. Sunil Kumar Hebbi claiming to kill her mother-in-law. The doctor declined and immediately reported it to the police

The case of a woman in Bengaluru reportedly requesting pills to kill her mother-in-law has taken an unexpected turn. Upon interrogation, the accused woman clarified, “I did not ask for pills to kill my mother-in-law, but to die myself." The interrogation also revealed that the young woman was grappling with severe mental depression and had attempted suicide twice before.
The woman, identified as Sahana, was searching for a doctor’s number on Google. During her search, she found Dr. Sunil Kumar Hebbi’s contact information and sent him a message.

Sahana was brought to the police station by her husband, a cab driver. She has a one-and-a-half-year-old child and had reportedly no disputes with her mother-in-law, according to police. Authorities are currently providing the woman with counselling.
Upon receiving her messages and recognising Sahana’s intentions, Dr. Hebbi immediately alerted the Sanjayanagar police station. The police registered a case and have called her for questioning following Dr. Hebbi’s complaint. The woman contacted Dr. Sunil Kumar Hebbi via WhatsApp at 2 pm on February 17. The doctor said that a message from an unknown number saying “Hi" appeared on his mobile phone. When he asked the woman about her identity, she said that her name was Sahana and that she lives in Bengaluru.
“I enquired after her well-being and asked what was troubling her. She replied that she wanted to discuss something with me. Sahana then declared that she needed medicine to kill her mother-in-law," the doctor claimed.
“What you are saying is wrong, I cannot do such a thing. I explained to her that it is our duty to save patients’ lives. Also, getting my phone number through social media and misusing it is wrong. I also explained that to her. Still, she was not ready to listen; she was harassing me by repeatedly messaging me and asking for medicine. After this, I went to Sanjaynagar police station in the afternoon and filed a complaint against her," Dr. Hebbi said.
The woman contacted the doctor, enquiring whether taking one or two tablets would be fatal. Immediately after receiving a response, she deleted the messages and blocked the doctor’s number.
The woman reportedly found the doctor’s number on Instagram before sending the WhatsApp message. “Our mother-in-law is old, and she tortures us a lot. If you tell me anything, how can I kill her?" the woman’s message read.
Meanwhile, the doctor has claimed that he is being targeted because he is actively involved in social work.
“The display picture is not even visible on the WhatsApp account from which the girl sent the message. I am involved in social work and also campaign against corruption, so I have to face opposition. I am worried that someone is trying to implicate me in this," Dr. Hebbi said.
“I am not familiar with any girl named Sahana. She obtained my number from an Instagram post and contacted me. We are not acquainted and have not met before. Our conversation lasted for five minutes, after which she called and apologised. She also requested that I refrain from filing a police complaint. When I enquired about her reasons, she explained that my mother-in-law is subjecting her to harassment, which she can no longer tolerate," Dr. Hebbi added.
Dr. Hebbi makes videos on health and social issues for social media. In addition to his online presence, Dr. Hebbi also contested the Karnataka Assembly elections in Vijayapura.
“I am being targeted because I am active. I don’t know if there was an attempt to implicate me or not, but the police said that they are searching for the accused," Dr. Hebbi said.
