Weather Updates: Several districts in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka are expected to experience rain this week. The change in weather comes as a low-pressure system is developing over the Bay of South Bengal, which is likely to intensify and bring rainfall to the region.

    Chennai-Tamil Nadu Weather Update

    Several districts in Tamil Nadu are expected to experience rain over the next two days, according to the latest bulletin from the Regional Meteorological Centre. The weather agency has issued a yellow alert for Ramanathapuram and Pudukottai districts for today. On Tuesday, heavy rains are anticipated in Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai districts, and Karaikal.

    Chennai may see light rainfall in some areas during this period. The city will have generally cloudy skies with maximum temperatures around 35-36°C and minimum temperatures between 27-28°C.

    Recently, the state has seen significant temperature fluctuations. However, temperatures are expected to gradually rise in north Tamil Nadu and adjoining southern areas starting today.

    Kerala Weather Updates

    The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Kerala, predicting heavy rainfall over the next five days. The IMD forecasts isolated heavy rainfall, ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within 24 hours, and strong thunderstorms in some areas.

    Currently located over the southwest Bay of Bengal, the low-pressure system is moving north-northwest and is expected to continue on this path over the next 48 hours, increasing the intensity of rainfall in the region.

    The IMD has declared the yellow alert for the following districts: Idukki, Thrissur and Ernakulam (April 7); Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and, Pathanamthitta (April 8).

    Bengaluru-Karnataka Weather Update

    The IMD has forecasted rain in several districts of Karnataka until April 13. Regions expected to experience scattered showers include Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Belagavi, Bagalkot, Dharwad, Gadag, Koppal, Vijayapura, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru City, Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Davangere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, and Vijayanagar.

    Rainfall has already been observed in various parts of the state. Areas that have received showers include Krishnarajpet, Agumbe, Puttur, Belthangady, Kammarady, Kalasa, Napoklu, Karkala, Yellapur, Maski, Lingasugur, Kakkeri, Muddebihal, Nagamangala, Ajjampura, Honnali, Siddapur, Banavasi, Uppinangady, Babaleswar, Kudalasangama, Hunchadakatte, HD Kote, and TG Halli.

    Bengaluru began the day with sunshine. The appearance of clouds in the morning raised hopes among residents, who eagerly anticipated the much-needed rain.

      However, the IMD has predicted that the Garden city will remain partly cloudy, with this pattern expected to continue until at least Friday (April 12). Temperatures are anticipated to range between 21°C and 31°C, with no significant rainfall expected during this period.
